The County of Santa Clara is expanding the Healthy Nail Salon Program to include hair salons that provide nail services. This initiative protects the well-being of salon employees and clients and reduces the risk of health problems caused by chronic exposure to chemicals. Announcing the 2025 Viral Video Contest winners! Every year, the Sexual Health Program encourages local students to create engaging social media videos about preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
A diverse panel of judges reviewed submissions from 51 students. Cash prizes were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners: $1,500, $1,000, or $500 for the top three winning teams, plus $500 for each winning team’s school.

 This month, the County reopened Level II trauma care at Regional Medical Center when it became part of the County's health system. Everyone in our community deserves fast access to life-saving care, and keeping Regional Medical Center open allows people in East San José to get care without having to travel longer distances during emergencies. Dr. Rudman is pictured here on opening day, as the County resumed Level II trauma services and brought back vital stroke and heart attack care.
