Dear Neighbors,
Dangerous mosquitoes, known as Aedes aegypti, are beginning to hatch in Santa Clara County. In other places, these mosquitoes can transmit diseases such as yellow fever, Zika, and dengue. Local government mosquito experts are asking everyone to help prevent them from making this their home.
• Dump and drain standing water around your home at least once a week.
• Let local government mosquito experts access your property. If requested, let County workers do the important job of checking areas where mosquitoes can lay their eggs.
• Report daytime mosquito bites. You can report online by emailing vectorinfo@cep.sccgov.org or calling (408) 918-4770.
• Sign up for SCCAlert for .

 Stay protected against measles
Know someone that is planning a trip with their baby? Babies 6 to 11 months are recommended to get one dose of MMR vaccine before traveling internationally or within the U.S. to areas with known outbreaks.
Know someone that is not sure if they got the measles vaccines or measles as a child? They can get vaccinated again. Measles is a highly contagious virus that can cause serious illness or even death, and the safe and highly effective measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine offers the best protection against the virus.
