Join other volunteers to help keep our waterways free from trash at the City of Santa Clara’s cleanup event on Saturday, May 16, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Register today and help be part of the solution to water pollution! Santa Clara’s Annual Cleanup Campaign will take place April 27 – May 22. On designated weekends, eligible residences may set out bulky items for collection. Crews will pick up furniture, appliances, e-waste, tires, residential construction debris and yard waste.
Concrete, asphalt, dirt, brick, rocks, drywall and/or sawdust MUST be in a construction debris bulk bag to prevent storm drain pollution. Bag material must be a heavy-duty tarp or plastic made specifically for construction debris. Purchase debris bulk bags at a local retailer or the Municipal Utility Services counter, 1500 Warburton Ave. Non-compliance is subject to a $150 fine. One cubic yard of bagged debris is accepted at no charge. Additional material is collected at $25/cubic yard. Household hazardous material is not accepted. For set-out instructions, visit SantaClaraCA.gov/Cleanup.
The City of Santa Clara Senior Advisory Commission invites members of our community ages 50+ to take a voluntary survey to help us better understand the needs of older adults and guide City services and policies. The survey takes about 10 minutes, and all responses are confidential and anonymous. The submission deadline is May 31, 2026.
For questions, call the Senior Center at 408-615-3170. Thank you for helping us build a healthier, more supportive community!

The City of Santa Clara will proclaim May 17-23 as National Public Works Week (NPWW) to celebrate the dedicated public works professionals who provide vital infrastructure, facilities, and services to our communities. The Department of Public Works (DPW) collaborates with other City departments to provide infrastructure services in transportation, roadway and building maintenance, water and solid waste systems, parks, power, and emergency response.
The 2026 NPWW theme of “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community” highlights the deeply rooted service-oriented reputation of public works professionals whose everyday efforts, both big and small, form the foundation of thriving communities. NPWW is a great opportunity to recognize our hardworking staff for the important role they play in building a city that is safe, sustainable, and successful.
