Mark your calendars for an evening that promises to be both inspiring and delicious! Join me at the Mission City Center for Performing Arts at Wilcox High School, where we’ll dive into Santa Clara’s incredible journey with our State of the City presentation. Starting at 5:30 with refreshments, we’ll celebrate our wins, tackle our challenges head-on, and unveil the exciting plans that will define our city’s next chapter. This isn’t your typical government meeting, it’s a community celebration where we’ll honor our outstanding Santa Claran of the Year and recognize amazing district Community award winners who make our neighborhoods shine. As we gear up to host Super Bowl 60 and FIFA World Cup matches in 2026, our Economic Development & Marketing Committee is developing a unifying theme for community events. We invite residents, businesses, and partners to share ideas and join us in showcasing Santa Clara’s spirit on the world stage. Together, we’ll make our city The Center of What’s Possible. Last week, I was honored to welcome the 2025 Women Back to Work Conference to Santa Clara at the Delta Hotel. This important event, hosted by Akraya’s Women Back to Work program, empowers women returning to the workforce by providing mentorship, resources, and career opportunities. When women take a pause from the workforce, it’s vital that they have the support to return, because their talent, leadership and perspective are essential to the strength of our economy and community. As one of only three women to serve as Mayor in Santa Clara’s 172-year history, I know firsthand how vital it is to open doors and lift each other up.
