May: A Month of Renewal and Community Progress
May is a time of renewal and growth, and as your city Councilmember, I’m inspired by the energy and potential of our community. Together, we continue to build a city that thrives—The Center of What’s Possible—where innovation meets compassion, and every voice is heard. Let’s make this month one of progress and unity. Thank you for being an essential part of what makes our city extraordinary.
- We proudly re-opened the Santa Clara Police Department Northside Sub-station, an event attended by many community members—including Canine Walsh!
- The 10th Annual Firehouse Run at Mission College brought us together for exercise and supported the Santa Clara Unified School District.
- The Related Company opened two new apartment buildings in District 1:
-
The Clara: Offering thoughtfully crafted market-rate apartments, ranging from studios to 3-bedrooms, townhomes, and penthouses.
-
The Ellore Luxury Senior Living: Designed for comfort and well-being, this community features 176 ultraluxury residences, including penthouse suites, independent living, assisted living, and memory care homes.
-
Over $37 million in development fees and affordable housing: Almost $3 million to fund Santa Clara Unified School District, $11 million for public parks in addition to the ½ acre park, $11 million for public infrastructure and $12 million for affordable housing.
- We celebrated Earth Day/Arbor Day alongside many talented Santa Clara Unified School District students.
