Santa Clara Multi-City Inclusionary Zoning and Affordable Housing Study
The City’s Affordable Housing Ordinance (AHO) was adopted in 2018 and requires new housing projects to set aside units as affordable housing. The AHO also requires new commercial projects to pay impact fees that are used to create new affordable housing opportunities.
The City of Santa Clara is participating in a multi-city initiative to explore possible updates to inclusionary zoning policies throughout Santa Clara County. The City is looking at possible changes to the AHO that would help build new housing with deeper affordability then is currently required.
The project team, led by Strategic Economics and Community Planning Collaborative, is hosting a virtual public meeting to share the purpose and goals of the study and to explain how the findings could be used for possible changes later this year. At this meeting members of the public can share their thoughts and take a follow-up online survey.
Meeting Information:
- Day: Monday, March 24
- Time: 6-7 p.m.
- Virtual Meeting: Zoom Link
