Water-Wise Methods Prepare Gardens for Spring

If you're taking the winter off from seasonally planting food or flowers, check out Help Your Garden Hibernate for Winter. Learn a few techniques to revitalize soil and retain moisture so when you're ready, your garden is also. The class is this Wednesday evening, November 6, from 6:30 to 8. Register by noon Wednesday to reserve your spot; look for the "Sign Up" button under the garden photo on the class registration website.
Instructor Suzanne Bontempo teaches you how to prepare your planting for maximum soil, plant and wildlife health to best benefit your next crop of veggies or blooms. She'll share the advantages of cover crops, hole composting and the value of leaving leaves and seed heads through the winter months.
The class is free via Zoom, thanks to a partnership of the Bay Area Water Conservation & Supply Agency and Santa Clara Water & Sewer Utilities. For other timely garden information, visit SantaClaraCA.gov/GardenGuide.
