The County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports Department is starting two pavement rehabilitation projects for Lawrence Expressway and San Tomas Expressway.
- The Lawrence Expressway Pavement Rehabilitation Project will extend for approximately 2.5 miles from the entrance of the Westgate West shopping center (near Quito Road) to Homestead Road and Work is scheduled to begin on Sept. 3, 2024 and is expected to take 3 to 4 months to complete, weather permitting.
- The San Tomas Expressway Pavement Rehabilitation Project extends for approximately 2 miles from El Camino Real to Highway 101. Work is scheduled to begin in late September/early October and is expected to take 3 to 4 months to complete, weather permitting.
Both projects involve reconstruction of the road surface, upgrading traffic signals, traffic-calming measures, intersection improvements and upgraded curb ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
