Great America Pkwy./Mission College Blvd. Intersection Improvement Project Begins on June 10
Major roadway construction at the intersection of Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard by the City’s contractor, O’Grady Paving Inc., is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 10, 2024. This project will require partial 24-hour lane closures and pedestrian detours at the intersection of Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard. Motorists should exercise caution and drive safely in this area. Due to continuous lane closures, it is recommended to avoid the intersection, if possible, and use alternative routes during the construction period. The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2025.
The scope of work for this project includes:
- Replacing traffic signals at the intersections of Great America Parkway/Mission College Boulevard and the Marriott Hotel Entrance/Mission College Boulevard.
- Constructing a new bus turnout on Mission College Boulevard adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.
- Expanding the left turn lanes from southbound Great America Parkway onto Mission College Boulevard.
- Installing new curbs, sidewalks, and ADA ramps at the intersection and along Great America Parkway.
- Repaving Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard with new asphalt.
- Replacing landscaping at the frontage of properties at the intersection.
