For this year's reading challenge, we're letting you choose your own adventure! We encourage adult readers to create their own reading challenge with categories that will broaden your reading horizons while still fitting in your lifestyle. The only guidelines are:
- Reading challenges must include at least six books.
- Reading challenge categories must be submitted via the online form to sign up for this challenge.
To learn more about the challenge, including category inspiration and how to let us know when you've finished, please view all details on our website.
Teen readers get their own reading adventure this year! We have created a “this or that” challenge of 12 types of books, where you can decide which one you would like to read. Here is a suggestion list of titles that match the challenge, but feel free to find and pick your own! The guidelines are:
1. You must read six books that fit into one of the qualifications of each of the options. You may read for all 12 options if you would like.
2. You must sign up using this online form and can submit your finished reading list online or with this paper log at any Santa Clara City Library location.
Any questions? Visit our website for more details.

Did you know the Library offers plenty of gorgeous, coffee-table-style art books that you can check out? We have hundreds of art books like the one pictured here that you can peruse on the second floor of the Central Park Library. Check the 700s in the nonfiction stacks for general art books, and look in the oversized art book collection in the Quiet Study Area for larger books that don't fit on our regular shelves. You can also use our online catalog to digitally browse our collection and place a hold to pick up your desired item during our open hours. |
