Santa Clara City Library is pleased to offer new Check Out and Code Kits! The kits cover a variety of coding languages, from Scratch to Java. Everyone from beginners to experienced coders can check out these all-in-one kits and work through the self-paced lessons to master different coding languages.
Kits are available starting August 1 and can be put on hold now.

Santa Clara City Library's Check Out and Code Kits are a recipient of the 2021-2022 PLP Innovation Grant. We are delighted to strengthen our community by providing opportunities for lifelong learning, discovery, and creativity.

Santa Clara City Library's Teen Library Leaders (TLL) is an advisory board of local teens in grades 7-12 who meet monthly with the library's Teen Services Librarian to discuss books, movies and music, and to give input on what they want from the library and assist in making it a reality. TLL requires a commitment to attend one meeting per month during the school year, volunteer to set up programs, and participate in reading and library program attendance outside of the meetings.

This program will preview some of the best books publishing during the rest of 2022. One of our librarians will be sharing the adult fiction and nonfiction titles she's most excited to read in the upcoming months, and attendees will have the chance to win free advance copies of some of fall's most anticipated books.

Get Your Summer Reading Prizes in August
Did you participate in our Summer Reading Program this year? If so, don't forget to pick up your prize at the Santa Clara City Library during the month of August!

Stop by any of our locations from August 1-31 with your reading map to receive your finisher prize: a book for kids, a Stan's Donut Shop coupon for teens, or a Friends Bookstore coupon for adults. All finishers will also win a library tote bag while supplies last.
The grand prize drawings will be held on September 1, so don't forget to turn in all your tickets before the end of August!
