June is Pride Month
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, which was an important event in the Gay Liberation Movement to secure more rights for queer people in the United States and to combat homophobia and discrimination. During the month of June, we recognize the achievements, contributions and history of LGBTQ+ people in the United States and across the world. If you want to celebrate Pride Month with a book, check out our recommended booklists for all ages!
