March Parks & Recreation Newsletter
Are you ready to get out and have fun this spring and summer? The Spring + Summer Camp 2022 Activity Guide will be available online Friday, March 4 for viewing.
We have you covered with a variety of recreation classes and summer camps. Registration begins Tuesday, March 8. Spring classes begin March 28 and summer camps begin June 6.
The Parks & Recreation Department will be draining the manufactured lake and conducting required periodic maintenance on the biofiltration system, recirculation pump system and aeration fountains. The maintenance work will begin the first week of March 2022 and take approximately three months. Due to the ongoing drought emergency in California and the City’s ongoing fiscal constraints, the lake will remain empty until the end of summer or fall at the earliest. When it is refilled, the City will use recycled water. This wet and dry seasonal cycle mimics our natural environment in the South Bay and wildlife will adjust their habits and migrate to other locations to forage.
For questions, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 408-615-3770.
