Hopper Avenue Corridor Improvements Start This Spring

We’re excited to announce the City Council has approved a $4.7 million construction contract for the Hopper Avenue Corridor Improvements Project – a huge milestone for Coffey Park area recovery! The City selected Argonaut Contractors of Santa Rosa to bring this long‑awaited project to life, marking exciting progress nearly a decade after the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Hopper Avenue, a key road connecting Coffey Park to Highway 101, was heavily damaged during the fire and debris removal. In 2021, the City set aside PG&E settlement funds to help rebuild this important roadway.

With strong guidance and input from community members through meetings and online surveys, the final project design reflects what neighbors said mattered most: a safer, easier‑to‑use roadway for people walking, biking, and driving. This project is also one of the City’s last major fire‑recovery infrastructure efforts, making its launch even more meaningful. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026, bringing long‑anticipated improvements one step closer to reality.
