Safe Parking Program Receives Funding to Stay Open

Santa Rosa has received nearly $1 million from Sonoma County to keep our Safe Parking Program open through June 2027. With this money, the program can continue offering a safe place for people to park and sleep overnight, along with important services that help them find stable housing.

The Safe Parking Program opened in 2022 and includes 52 parking spaces for cars and RVs at the City’s Municipal Services Center on Stony Point Road. While staying there, participants can access restrooms, showers, food, and case managers who help them work toward jobs, shelter, and long‑term housing. In its first three years, the program served 307 people, helping many move into temporary or permanent homes.

This new funding strengthens our ongoing efforts to address homelessness and support the well‑being of residents in need.
