Report Details Santa Rosa’s Potential for a Professional Soccer Stadium

Hi Santa Rosa! We recently shared an update about the possibility of a United Soccer League (USL) stadium being built in Santa Rosa. Now we'd like to share with you the Market Opportunity Report, which looks at the viability of building a sports and events complex, including a USL stadium. The report says Santa Rosa has strong population growth and lots of people who play sports like soccer and basketball. Right now, there aren’t enough large venues for games and tournaments.

Sports tourism is a big business, bringing in $47.1 billion nationwide in 2024. A local facility would boost hotel stays, shopping, and jobs.

The report recommends this complex include:

  • A stadium with over 5,000 seats
  • Outdoor fields for tournaments
  • An indoor space for sports and events

Next steps include exploring possible locations, considering funding options, and continuing conversations with the City, County of Sonoma, USL, and other stakeholders, including our community.
