City Manager’s Project Update: Cleveland Avenue Corridor Project Advances Active Transportation Goals
Phase one of a traffic calming and “road diet” project along the Cleveland Avenue Corridor is now complete, helping close critical gaps in Santa Rosa’s active transportation network. This phase removed one vehicle lane in each direction to reduce traffic speeds and create space for 0.7 miles of Class IV separated bike lanes, improving safety and accessibility for active transportation. Funded by a $117,758 grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA), administered locally by the Sonoma County Transportation Authority (SCTA), the project supports the City’s efforts to build a healthier, more sustainable community. Phase two is expected to begin this summer, continuing work to improve connectivity and create safer, more inclusive streets for all.
