Introducing an EPIC Campaign in Roseland
Get ready! Feathered and furry litter critters are making their way to Roseland to help eliminate trash from entering Roseland Creek, but they need your help. These new ambassadors are part of an EPIC education campaign launching this month in partnership with the Roseland community and businesses. Look for colorful critters appearing as artwork in various locations and storefronts along Sebastopol Road. EPIC, which stands for Every Piece Inspires Change, aims to build awareness and prevent trash from entering storm drains, to comply with statewide trash requirements. Included is the installation of eight new trash bins, including four self-compacting Big Belly bins that incorporate local art. To kick off the campaign, the City is organizing an EPIC Community Cleanup on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. If successful, the campaign could serve as a low-cost alternative that could be replicated across Santa Rosa.
