City Manager’s Project Update: Finley Aquatic Center Spray Ground Nearing Completion
Exciting news for the community! Construction of the new Spray Ground at Finley Aquatic Center is nearly complete, and staff are now being trained on the operations of the new amenity in time for the Grand Splash Opening this summer. The Spray Ground offers a multi-generational water play experience with 15 interactive spray features, two new reservable picnic areas with tables and shade covers, and new tropical-themed landscaping with palm trees. The project also includes upgrades to adjacent pool deck areas, enabling access to the new amenity and throughout the aquatic center swim area to be fully ADA-compliant. The spray ground is anticipated to open to the community for the summer season, coinciding with the start of recreational swimming when the weather warms. Stay tuned for more details on this special event and get ready to make a splash at Finley Aquatic Center this summer!

Public Hearing on April 1 for Proposed 5-Year Water and Wastewater Rate Increases
Santa Rosa Water is proposing annual rate increases from 2025 to 2029 to ensure a safe and reliable water future. A public hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 5 p.m. or later at the Santa Rosa City Council to discuss proposed water and sewer rate increases. In January, customers received a Proposition 218 Notice in the mail detailing proposed increases. The rate proposal is based on an independent consultant's comprehensive study assessing the cost to operate, maintain, repair, and replace water and sewer systems. Investing now protects our community’s water future. Every dollar collected from your water and sewer bill is reinvested to provide quality water and sewer services, upgrade aging infrastructure, prevent service disruptions, enhance system resilience, protect water quality and the environment, and address rising costs of wholesale water supply, utilities, chemicals, and supplies. If adopted, the proposed rates will go into effect July 1, 2025.
