Santa Rosa Water Proposing Rate Increases to Fund Water System Improvements
Santa Rosa Water is proposing five years of rate increases to ensure a safe and reliable water future for our community. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at or after 5 p.m., at Santa Rosa City Council to consider the adoption of the proposed 2025 through 2029 water and sewer rate increases. Prior to the public hearing, customers will receive a Proposition 218 Notice in the mail detailing the proposed increases. The rate proposal is based on a comprehensive rate study completed by an independent rate consultant to determine the cost of services to operate, maintain, repair, and replace our water and sewer systems. Santa Rosa Water retains no profit. Every dollar collected on your monthly bill is used to deliver quality water and sewer service, replace and modernize aging infrastructure to prevent breaks, service disruptions, and improve system resilience, protect water quality and the environment, mitigate the impacts of climate change and natural disasters, and address the rising costs of wholesale water supply, utilities, chemicals, and supplies.
