City Manager’s Project Update: Fountaingrove Neighborhood Pavement Recovery Work to Begin

Pavement rehabilitation for the Neighborhood Road Disaster Recovery project is now complete in the Coffey Park neighborhood. Pavement work is expected to begin in the Fountaingrove area the week of Sept. 30 and continue into November, weather permitting. Over the past few weeks, crews have been preparing for the upcoming paving operations by lowering sewer and water covers and replacing existing curb ramps with new ADA-compliant ramps in the Fountaingrove neighborhoods. The paving process involves grinding and removing approximately 2-3 inches of existing pavement on residential streets, which will then be replaced with new asphalt, revitalizing neighborhood roadways damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. During an emergency, knowing alternate routes out of your neighborhood is essential. The City of Santa Rosa's Neighborhood Travel Routes webpage, created by public safety officials and traffic engineers, helps you identify the safest and quickest exits, as your usual path may not always be the best option. During the Glass Fire, many residents relied on familiar routes, resulting in congestion which could have been avoided if residents had been aware of alternate paths. If you live in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), your map will highlight evacuation routes to major roads. Review, download, and print your map to include in your go-bag. KNOW YOUR WAYS OUT

Bus Service Worker
