City Manager's Project Update: Transit Mall Rehabilitation and Temporary Relocation Project
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 3 on a vital infrastructure project designed to revitalize and rehabilitate the deteriorating pavement along the Downtown Transit Mall. This rehabilitation initiative is driven by the need to address service disruptions, operational safety concerns, and pedestrian hazards due to the aging pavement, which has surpassed its useful lifespan. During construction, the Second Street Transit Mall will be closed to the public and a temporary Transit Mall will be established on First Street, between Santa Rosa Avenue and D Street, adjacent to City Hall.
