City of Santa Rosa Awarded a Federal Microgrant to Enhance SRPD’s Homeless Outreach Efforts
The U.S. Department of Justice recently awarded the City of Santa Rosa a microgrant to enhance the police department’s homeless outreach efforts. Select SRPD officers will receive specialized training on homeless outreach best practices and de-escalation techniques, and conduct outreach assessments to identify unhoused individuals and families needing support. How Should the City Allocate Federal Funding to Address Housing Needs?
The City is preparing its FY 2024-2027 Consolidated Plan, which identifies how to spend approximately $2.5 million in annual federal funding to address the housing and community services needs of marginalized communities in Santa Rosa over the next four years. The planning process provides an opportunity for a community-wide dialogue to identify needs and prioritize spending. Over the next month, residents will be encouraged to share their insights through an in-person and virtual forum on Jan. 11 and a community-wide survey. LEARN MORE
