Santa Rosa’s inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team: A Model for the Nation
Last week, Santa Rosa Police Chief John Cregan attended the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference and Exposition, the largest and most impactful law enforcement event of the year, where a video providing a comprehensive overview of Santa Rosa’s inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team was presented to over 14,000 law enforcement leaders from around the world to empower other cities to launch similar programs in their jurisdictions. Watch the videos and learn more about Chief Cregan’s vision for the continuing success of the inRESPONSE program here.
To date, inRESPONSE has responded to 3,462 calls for service, which otherwise would have been dispatched to the police or fire departments. With the holidays approaching and for individuals and families coping with mental health challenges, inRESPONSE will continue to be an essential lifeline through the holiday season.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis in Santa Rosa, call the inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team at 707-575-HELP (4357). LEARN MORE
