Sections of Highway 12 Will Be Closed This Weekend and Next Weekend
Caltrans plans to close two separate sections of Highway 12 this weekend and next weekend: full closures overnight and partial lane closures during the day. The closures are part of a pavement and concrete slab replacement project to rehabilitate a three-mile stretch of the highway. The section of the highway in Zone 1 on the west end of the project limits between Merced Road and North Dutton Avenue will close eastbound traffic from October 20 to 23, and the section between Santa Rosa Avenue and Farmers Lane in Zone 3 on the east end of the project will close eastbound and westbound traffic from October 27 to 30. The highway will be fully closed in these sections from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., and one lane of traffic will be open in both directions between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Expect reduced traffic flow, watch for detour signs, and avoid traveling through the areas when possible.
