Now is your chance to nominate a person or organization to receive a 2023 City of Santa Rosa Merit Award, which celebrates Santa Rosa individuals, businesses, and organizations for their community volunteerism, leading to improved quality of life in Santa Rosa. The longstanding awards program dates back to 1978. It includes a prestigious list of Santa Rosans who have given their time, talent, energy, and resources to make the community a better place to live, work, and play. The City’s Violence Prevention Draft Strategic Plan Now Ready for Review

From January through May 2023, the Santa Rosa Violence Prevention Partnership (The Partnership) undertook an extensive strategic planning process to revisit its mission, vision, values, and strategies to identify areas for improvement and change for 2023-2028. After reviewing prior and recent assessments, reports, engagement efforts, input from community meetings, multiple interviews with staff and the public, and models of programs from other cities, the draft of the new 5-year strategic plan has been published. Installing solar panels on a roof? There’s an app for that! Licensed contractors can now use SolarAPP+ and the City of Santa Rosa's Accela Citizen’s Access (ACA) for instantaneous permitting of new residential rooftop solar only (not including Energy Storage Systems). SolarAPP+ is designed to provide a code-compliance check for most residential, roof-mounted, retrofit photovoltaic systems in Santa Rosa. If you are a licensed contractor (owner-builders click here) and want to streamline installing solar panels, review the eligibility checklist to see if your project qualifies and use the automated SolarAPP+ portal for instant permitting.
