Construction to Begin on New South Park Commons Affordable Apartments
Construction of South Park Commons, a new affordable housing complex at the former Bennett Valley Senior Center site, is set to begin. Financing for the project was completed last week, including the investment of the City-owned parcel at Bennett Valley Road and Rutledge Avenue, which the City sold to the developer for $1. The Santa Rosa Housing Authority also invested $5.5 million and 30 project-based Housing Vouchers in the project. State funding, loans from the Housing Authority and the Renewal Enterprise District, and low-income housing tax credits all came together to make the project possible. The affordable housing development will feature 62 apartments, ranging from studios to three bedrooms, for low-income renters and formerly homeless residents. LEARN MORE

Did You Know?
Every City Street is Swept Monthly Do You Know Your Sweep Day?
The City of Santa Rosa contracts with Recology to provide street sweeping services monthly to ensure that our streets are clean and safe for residents and visitors. Street sweeping makes our city streets cleaner and is essential to stormwater pollution prevention. It prevents unwanted materials from flowing into the storm drains, polluting our creeks, and causing backups and flooding. Knowing your street-sweeping day is essential so Recology’s street-sweeping trucks have full access when sweeping your neighborhood. Please park cars in your driveway or in another area on sweep day to allow us to keep our streets cleaner. Visit SRCity.org/StreetSweeper to use the interactive map to find your area, and then use the street-sweeping calendar to find your schedule. If you have questions, contact Recology at 800-243-0291.
