One Storm Down, with More Storms on the Way – Are You Prepared?
The first significant storm is winding down, but a few more are on the way. In the last 24 hours, City crews responded to multiple storm-related incidents involving downed trees and powerlines causing power outages. The next storm is expected to reach Santa Rosa this Sat., Jan. 7, into Sun., Jan. 8, with stronger winds. Then, another powerful storm is expected for Mon., Jan. 9, into Tues., Jan. 10.
With wet weather anticipated into the middle of January, residents are encouraged to prepare supplies and provisions for additional winter storms. Also, we recommend surveying your property and cleaning up any tree debris or leaf litter that may lead to clogged storm drains.
City staff will continue to monitor weather forecasts and conditions in Santa Rosa through the weekend, and City crews will continue to respond to calls and prepare for upcoming storms. Visit SRCity.org/WinterStorm for storm updates and resources.

Sand and Sandbags are Available for Santa Rosa Residents
Sand and sandbags are available and free to City of Santa Rosa residents at the City’s sandbag filling station located at the City Municipal Services Center North (55 Stony Point Rd.). The sandbag filling station is open 24/7 throughout the rainy season, typically October through April. To access the sandbag filling station, show your ID with a City of Santa Rosa address at the check-in gate. Shovels are available on site for use when filling bags. Plan to transport the sandbags in a vehicle you don't mind getting dirty, as sand and bags are stored outside. Place sandbags near your home to divert rainwater away from your property. LEARN MORE
