City Hosting Drive-Thru Gun Buyback Event on Oct. 22 – this Saturday!
The Office of Community Engagement and the Santa Rosa Police Department are teaming up to host a drive-thru gun buyback event to help slow potential gun violence. Through generous donations from community partners and local organizations, the City will be doling out cash of up to $200 for each functional handgun, rifle, or shotgun, and/or $300 for each functional assault rifle or ghost gun (limit 3 total per vehicle). The drive-thru event will be hosted at Bridge Church (301 Fulton Rd.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 22. Community members dropping off firearms are asked to leave their guns in the trunk of the car, approach from College Avenue, and stay in their vehicles when they reach the drop-off point. All transactions are anonymous, no ammo will be accepted, and firearms must be unloaded. LEARN MORE

Take Action on Imagine a Day Without Water
Today, Oct. 20, is Imagine a Day Without Water, a National Day of Water education. We depend on water every day, so today, Imagine a Day Without Water is about taking a moment to think about the value of our community’s public water system, the people working behind the scenes to provide this essential service, and the infrastructure and investments that are needed to serve our community now and into the future. Participate in Imagine a Day Without Water by taking a few moments to learn about your water and take the I Heart Water pledge. LEARN MORE
