September is National Preparedness Month – Are You Ready for an Emergency?
It's the official start of National Preparedness Month, and disasters can happen anywhere, at any time. That’s why it’s critical you’re prepared. If you do not have a plan for yourself, your pets, and your family, the City’s public safety staff emplore you to create a plan with your specific needs so you are prepared in an emergency. Visit SRCity.org/ReadySR today to look up your evacuation zone, prepare your go-bag, update your alerting contact information and/or subscriptions, and review your safe neighborhood travel routes.

Santa Rosa Has a Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot Program
Santa Rosa has joined the County of Sonoma to offer a pilot program for eligible families to receive a guaranteed basic income of $500/month for two years. This pilot program aims to alleviate financial stressors felt particularly by lower income pregnant and parenting families with young children, particularly those most impacted by the pandemic. There are specific qualifications to apply for this funding, and the application period is open between Sept. 1 through Oct. 31.
