Sonoma County Officially Aligns with California's Guidelines for Facial Coverings

The Sonoma County Health Order Officer issued a Health Order on May 24, officially aligning Sonoma County with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines on face coverings. The Health Order says that all individuals in Sonoma County must continue to comply with the state's Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings issued by the CDPH on May 3, 2021. READ MORE

Updates to State Framework for June 15 Reopening

The CDPH updated the Beyond the Blueprint Framework for California's June 15 reopening. On June 15, industry and business sectors may return to usual operations with no capacity limits or physical distancing requirements, with limited exceptions for mega events. Vaccination Update

As of Wednesday, 58 percent of Sonoma County's 12 and older population is now fully vaccinated, and 70 percent has received at least one dose which includes more than 300,000 residents. Vaccination clinics are offered at schools for students and families age 12-plus, and the vaccine is readily available and being administered to all eligible individuals at mobile clinics throughout the County with walk-up and online appointments available. Use the links below to schedule an appointment noon to 6:00 p.m. at one of these upcoming mobile clinics or visit the Myturn.ca.gov website for more options.

$2.8M in Relief Approved for Restaurants, Body Art Businesses, and Pools Closed During Pandemic

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors authorized nearly $2.8 million in relief for businesses forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aid package, in the form of Environmental Health permit fee offsets, applies to restaurants, body art businesses and pools that were required to close or limit operations after March 1, 2020. The funding is part of the County's pandemic recovery plan to assist the business community impacted by the pandemic and restore the economy. READ MORE

• Wildfire Ready: Preparedness Resource & Information Center for Santa Rosa Residents

$33.9M in Federal Funding Allocated to City for Rebuilding & Resiliency

A total of $33.9M in Federal funding was allocated to the City to support unmet needs for rebuilding infrastructure damaged during the 2017 wildfires and to make infrastructure improvements to protect our community from future disasters. The funds come from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant -- Disaster Recovery Infrastructure and Mitigation programs. This week, Mayor Rogers, Councilmember Fleming (D-4) and Fire Chief Scott Westrope met with Rep. Mike Thompson at the former site of Fire Station 5, which burned in the Tubbs Fire, to acknowledge the good news. The City has prioritized its potentially eligible infrastructure projects that can utilize these funds and rebuilding Fire Station 5 at a new site is top of the list. READ MORE

'School of Rec' Distance Learning Program Concludes, 180 Families Served

The School of Rec Distance Learning Camp and Care program concluded Wednesday after having served 180 families during the pandemic, including many underserved families. Recreation & Parks staff opened the program in August 2020 following discussions with local school representatives. Small cohorts of children at Finley and Steele Lane community centers received assistance with Zoom classroom participation and took part in safe recreational activities. The program is credited with helping to meet an emergent, critical need within the community, providing a positive and safe environment for youth enrichment and learning during the pandemic.

REMINDER: Chanate Road Westbound Traffic Detour

The detour of westbound traffic on Chanate Road between Terra Linda Drive and Humboldt Street is currently in effect and will remain in effect into September to allow for the installation of a large sewer pipeline under Chanate Road. This pipeline installation is using trenchless technology requiring excavation of boring pits as deep as forty feet in the westbound lane of Chante Road. A boring machine is then lowered to the bottom of the bore pit where crews use it to tunnel to the receiving pit. The drought is here, and Santa Rosa Water wants to support your water-saving efforts by hosting a Drought Drop-by event to distribute FREE WaterSmart kits to Santa Rosa residents. Join us on Saturday, June 12 from 9am to 1pm at the Fairgrounds Parking Lot (corner of Brookwood Avenue and Bennett Valley Road) to pick-up your FREE kit. Daniel Chaparro: Street Soldier & Social Advocate for Youth

Daniel Chaparro is a dedicated community activist and advocate for youth who recognizes the significance of fostering community. Born and raised in Roseland, he faced an incredible challenge when his parents divorced at 15. He used this and other experiences as a child to push himself towards more. As a student at Santa Rosa High School, Daniel thought college was out of the question. Actualización de Vacunación

$2.8M en Alivio Aprobados Para Restaurantes, Negocios de Arte Corporal y Piscinas Cerradas Durante la Pandemia

La Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Sonoma autorizó casi $ 2.8 millones en ayuda para las empresas que se vieron obligadas a cerrar durante la pandemia de COVID-19. $33,9 Millones en Fondos Federales Asignados a la Ciudad Para la Reconstrucción y la Resiliencia

Se asignó un total de $ 33.9 millones en fondos Federales a la Ciudad para apoyar las necesidades no satisfechas de reconstruir la infraestructura dañada durante los incendios forestales del 2017 y para realizar mejoramientos en la infraestructura para proteger a nuestra comunidad de futuros desastres. Los fondos provienen de la Subvención en Bloque para el Desarrollo Comunitario del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los EE. UU. - Programas de mitigación e infraestructura de recuperación de desastres. Esta semana, el Alcalde Rogers, la Concejal Fleming (D-4) y el Jefe de Bomberos Scott Westrope se reunieron con el Representante Mike Thompson en el antiguo sitio de la Estación de Bomberos 5, que se quemo en el Incendio Tubbs, para reconocer las buenas noticias. La Ciudad le dio prioridad a sus proyectos de infraestructura potencialmente elegibles que pueden utilizar estos fondos y la reconstrucción de la Estación de Bomberos 5 en un nuevo sitio es la primera de la lista. Concluye el programa de aprendizaje a distancia "School of Rec", con 180 familias beneficiadas

El programa de aprendizaje a distancia "School of Rec" concluyó el miércoles después de haber brindado servicio a 180 familias durante la pandemia, incluyendo muchas familias desatendidas. RECORDATORIO: Desvío de tráfico hacia el oeste de Chanate Road

El desvío de tráfico hacia el oeste en Chanate Road entre Terra Linda Drive y Humboldt Street está actualmente en vigor y permanecerá en efecto en septiembre para permitir la instalación de una línea de alcantarillado de gran tamaño que pasa por debajo de Chanate Road. Esta instalación de la tubería está utilizando la tecnología sin zanja que requiere la excavación de pozos de perforación de hasta cuarenta pies de profundidad en el carril hacia el oeste de Chante Road. Cuando estudiaba en el instituto de Santa Rosa, Daniel pensaba que la universidad estaba descartada.
