Update from Chief Navarro Regarding the Citywide Curfew, Enforcement, and Yesterday's Protest
Let me begin by saying thank you to our community for your support of the Santa Rosa Police Department as we work to protect the rights of citizens to lawfully protest and keep our community safe from those who are intent on doing harm. The citywide curfew that took effect last night provided an effective tool to better manage the situation during this time of civil unrest. I appreciate the support of most members of our community who voluntarily complied with the order last night to help keep Santa Rosa safe. READ MORE
Reminder About Street Closures in Downtown Santa Rosa
To facilitate safe assembly in the downtown area, specific intersections and streets are closed to vehicular traffic, and will be until at least Thursday, June 4th. VIEW ROAD CLOSURES
SRPD Suspends the Use of Nixle Due to App Failures
 The Santa Rosa Police Department is temporarily suspending the use of Nixle due to systemwide failures with the third party application. It has come to our attention that the app, Nixle, is misdelivering or not delivering important and timely information. This includes both emails and text messages.
Timely information remains a priority for SRPD. In the meantime, please visit the following sites for timely information and updates:
The City of Santa Rosa uses multiple notification and warning systems to make sure emergency alerts are delivered to the people who need the information. Learn more about the various ways the City will attempt to notify you in the event of a critical emergency at srcity.org/knowyouralerts.
A Message from Mayor Tom Schwedhelm on This Evening’s Planned March
The past several days have been some of the more trying and hard times our community has faced. It is an emotional time for us, and many express this through march and protest against injustice and the status quo. Please know, that I see you, I hear you, and you matter. I want to acknowledge the significance of this evening’s protest to all of us in Sonoma County.
Especially today, we at the City of Santa Rosa stand with all community members who lawfully express their grief, anger, and frustration. Myself, my fellow council members, the Chief of Police and all men and women of his Department are committed to keeping the protesters safe, and the protests themselves peaceful.
Let that be a warning to those who would use this grave occasion to commit acts of violence, vandalize, and destroy property. Violent actions put lives at great risk and cast a dark shadow over the real purpose of today’s powerful movement. Let’s raise our voices and work together to create a more just community for everyone in Santa Rosa.

Application Period for COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program Begins Tomorrow, June 3
Tomorrow, June 3, the City of Santa Rosa will begin accepting applications for the COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program. The goal of the Program is to assist residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with rental payments through December 31, 2020. Applications will be accepted through June 10, 2020. In order to qualify for rental assistance, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must have a household income at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
- Must have had a loss or decrease in wages as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Must have at least one member of the household who is a documented U.S. citizen (this person can be a minor)

 Santa Rosa’s Water Quality Report is now available! Santa Rosa Water is committed to providing safe, high-quality drinking water. Our team of highly skilled operators, engineers, technical experts, and administrative staff monitor and maintain our water system 24/7 and take great pride in ensuring that the approximately 53,000 homes, businesses, schools and hospitals in Santa Rosa receive drinking water that meets or exceeds the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) safe drinking water standards. Bringing Hope, Love, and Magic to Children During the Public Health Emergency
 Performing and visual arts might be their day jobs, but after hours and on weekends, Katie Kelley and Jessica Martin transform into fierce female warriors and kind-hearted princesses, bringing joy and laughter to children of all ages through their organization called Hope, Love and Magic. With current requirements to practice social distancing, Katie and Jessica have taken their love, hope, and magic to the virtual world, entertaining children through story time, arts and crafts, games and dancing. These virtual experiences are available in groups settings or individually. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Katie and Jessica would dress up as Disney princesses and pay special visits to children in local hospitals. They also performed at children’s birthday parties and community events. During the October 2017 wildfires, Katie and Jessica dressed up as princesses and visited with children at evacuation shelters, earning Hope, Love and Magic a 2018 Merit Award from the City of Santa Rosa for their volunteerism.
Thank you, Love, Hope and Magic, for continuing to spread happiness and joy among Santa Rosa children and beyond, even during times such as this.

SRPD Suspende el Uso de Nixle Debido a Fallas en la Aplicación

El Período de Solicitud para el Programa de Ayuda a los Residentes con Pagos de Renta COVID-19 comienza mañana, 3 de junio
Mañana, 3 de junio, la Ciudad de Santa Rosa comenzará a aceptar solicitudes para el Programa de Asistencia a los Residentes con Pagos de Renta COVID-19. El objetivo del Programa es ayudar a los residentes afectados por la pandemia COVID-19 con los pagos de renta hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2020. Las solicitudes se aceptarán hasta el 10 de junio de 2020. Para calificar para la asistencia de pagos de renta, el solicitante debe cumplir con los siguientes criterios de elegibilidad:
- Debe tener un ingreso familiar igual o al menos de 60% del Ingreso Medio del Área (AMI)
- Debe haber tenido una pérdida o disminución en los salarios como resultado de la pandemia de COVID-19
- Debe tener al menos un miembro del hogar que sea ciudadano estadounidense documentado (esta persona puede ser menor de edad)

Brindando Amor, Esperanza, y Magia a los niños durante la Emergencia de Salud Pública
Las artes escénicas y visuales pueden ser su trabajo diario, pero después de horas y fines de semana, Katie Kelley y Jessica Martin se transforman en feroces guerreras y princesas de buen corazón, llevando alegría y risas a niños de todas las edades a través de su organización llamada Amor, Esperanza y Magia (organización en inglés Hope, Love and Magic). Con los requisitos actuales para practicar el distanciamiento social, Katie y Jessica han llevado su amor, esperanza y magia al mundo virtual, entreteniendo a los niños a través de tiempo de cuentos, artes y manualidades, juegos y bailes. Estas experiencias virtuales están disponibles en grupos o individualmente. Antes de la pandemia de COVID-19, Katie y Jessica se disfrazaron de princesas de Disney e hicieron visitas especiales a niños en hospitales locales. También se presentaron en fiestas de cumpleaños infantiles y eventos comunitarios. Durante los incendios forestales de octubre de 2017, Katie y Jessica se disfrazaron de princesas y visitaron a los niños en los refugios de evacuación, ganando a Hope, Love and Magic un Premio al Mérito 2018 de la Ciudad de Santa Rosa por su tiempo voluntario.
