Update 3PM: PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff

PG&E has initiated a power shutoff for the North Bay, including portions of Sonoma County. PG&E began shutting-off power at 7:00 a.m. today, Wednesday (11/20) and anticipates inspections and re-energization to begin starting around 8:00 a.m. Thursday (11/21). PG&E has indicated re-energization could take up to 24 hours and residents in the impacted area should prepare to be without power for multiple days.

Approximately 4,800 customers (roughly 15,000 residents) in the eastern areas of Santa Rosa have been impacted by PG&E’s power shutoff. No additional power shutoffs are planned for today. Residents can use PG&E’s Power Shutoff Address Lookup Tool to determine if a residence or business has been affected: https://psps.ss.pge.com/

The City of Santa Rosa’s Emergency Operation Center has been activated to respond to the needs of the community during the event. Additional PG&E updates can be found at www.pge.com/pspsupdates

Anticipated Traffic Signal Outages and Driver Safety

Multiple intersections are expected to be without power including during the afternoon rush-hour commute. Public Safety officials urge drivers to reduce speeds, drive with caution and treat all intersections without power as a 4-way stop, per state law. Stop signs will be staged at intersections to help remind drivers that they must stop at intersections where signals are out.

 

Community Resource Centers

PG&E Community Resource Centers (CRCs) are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the duration of the during PG&E power shutoffs. Restrooms, bottled water, electronic-device charging, heating and cooling, and seating for up to 100 are available at the location below.

Warming Center

The City of Santa Rosa’s Finley Community Center at 2060 West College Avenue will be open as a Warming Center during the PG&E Power Shutoff from 8 p.m. Wednesday (11/20) until 8 a.m. Thursday (11/21). The Warming Center is a place to warm up and charge devices. Visitors wishing to access the Warming Center will need to check-in between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and midnight; no access to the Warming Center will be granted past midnight. 

What to Expect at the Warming Center

• The warming center is a place to warm up and charge devices, it is not a shelter and no blankets or cots for sleeping will be provided.   
• Visitors will need to check in between 8:00 p.m. and midnight, will need to sign out upon leaving, and there will be no in-and-out privileges.  
• There is no television or radio available at the Warming Center, but visitors may bring, charge and use their own devices. 
• ICE is not allowed in the Warming Center.
• Pets are not permitted in the Warming Center, only service animals will be allowed.
• Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

PG&E ha iniciado un corte de energía para el Norte de la Bahía, incluyendo partes del condado de Sonoma. PG&E comenzó a desconectar la energía a partir de las 7:00 a.m. hoy, miércoles (20/11) y anticipa que las inspecciones y la restauración comenzará alrededor de las 8:00 a.m. del jueves (21/11). ANTICIPACIÓN DE APAGON DE SEÑALAMIENTOS DE TRAFICO Y SEGURIDAD DE CONDUCTORES

Varias intersecciones no tendrán energía eléctrica en la tarde durante el desplazamiento del trabajo. Oficiales del departamento de seguridad les pide a los conductores reducir su velocidad y manejar con precaución y trate todas las intersecciones como señalamiento de cuatro (4) paradas, por la ley estatal. Señales de alto estarán ubicados en las intersecciones para recordarles a los conductores que deben parar en todas las intersecciones donde las señales de tráfico no tienen energía eléctrica.

 

RECURSOS COMUNITARIOS

Los Centros de Recursos Comunitarios (CRCs) de PG&E permanecerán abiertos de 8 AM hasta 8 PM mientras un corte de energía. Hay baños, agua embotellada, carga de dispositivos eléctricos, aire acondicionado y capacidad de 100 personas sentadas.

CENTRO DE CALEFACCIÓN

El Finley Center de la Ciudad de Santa Rosa en 2060 West College Avenue abrirá como un Centro de Calefacción durante el corte de energía de PG&E empezando a las 8 p.m. el miércoles (11/20) has las 8 a.m. del jueves (11/21). El Centro de Calefacción es un lugar para mantenerse cálido y cargar sus dispositivos electrónicos. Los visitantes que deseen acceso al Centro de Calefacción tendrán que registrarse entre las horas de las 8:00 p.m. y la media noche; no habrá acceso al Centro de Calefacción después de la media noche.

Expectativas del Centro de Calefacción

• El centro de calefacción es un lugar para mantenerse acalorado y cargas sus dispositivos electrónicos, no es un lugar de alojamiento y no habrá catres o cobijas para dormir.
• Los visitantes deben registrarse entre las 8:00 p.m. y la media noche, y tendrán que registrar la salida cuando se retiren, no habrá privilegio de entrada y salida.
• No habrá televisión o radios disponibles en el Centro de Calefacción, pero los visitantes pueden traer, cargar y usar sus propios dispositivos.
• ICE no es permitido entrar en el centro de calefacción.
• Mascotas no están permitidos en el centro de calefacción, solo animales de servicio estarán permitidos.
• Habrá bebidas y refrigerios ligeros.
