Greetings Creek Stewards!
One of our biannual events, supporting the Bennett Valley Cleanup Day, brings a little love to Sierra Park Creek. It is a small tributary of Spring Creek, flowing past Strawberry Elementary School and the surrounding neighborhood.
Our plan is to cleanup the creek and as time permits, the school grounds and surrounding streets. We continue our efforts to promote the Streets to Creeks campaign, reminding community members that if it's on the street, it will make it to the creek through the storm drain system. Let's get that trash so it never sees the ocean blue!

Word Quiz: We are all familiar with the Sierra Nevada. What does Sierra mean? See answer below the photograph.
The Annadel State Park ridgeline pictured here demonstrates a mountain range with a serrated or irregular outline. The word Sierra comes from Spanish, meaning saw, from Latin serra.
Thanks for being a part of our community of creek lovers,
Alistair
