San Joaquin County California - greatness grows here

Dear County Resident:

Urgent Action Needed

This Wednesday, August 25, the California Citizen’s Redistricting Commission (Commission) is holding the potentially last Community of Interest hearing for the Central Valley Region from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

It is very important that you participate, comment, and make your voice heard at this important hearing.  The Commission is responsible for drawing the lines for the Congressional, Assembly and Senate Districts with the recent US Census data released.  This will affect how you vote for the next ten years.

To participate in the hearing, please call 1-877-853-5247. Each public comment is limited to 3 minutes.  For more information please see this flyer, or go to the Commission website at www.wedrawthelinesca.org.

San Joaquin County recently conducted an online survey of county residents regarding redistricting.  There were two important results from the survey, which may be of interest in your testimony.  For a full copy of the survey results click here.

  1. San Joaquin County is currently represented by two Congressional Representatives in Congressional District 9 (CD 9) and Congressional District 10 (CD 10). CD 9 represents San Joaquin County as well as part of Contra Costa County, and CD 10 represents San Joaquin  County as well as part of Stanislaus County. Knowing this, how would you like these Congressional Districts to be drawn?
