Dear Mental Health Providers:
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) collects data annually or biannually from the Mental Health Consumer Perception Survey (the Youth Services Survey (YSS) for Children’s Programs and the Mental Health Statistics Improvement Program (MHSIP) for Adult/Older Adult Programs) for reporting on the federally determined National Outcome Measures (NOMs).
The 2026 Spring MH Consumer Perception Survey will be administered May 18-22, 2026. The format of data collection will follow the process of the Spring 2025 survey period; it will be available for administration both electronically and in paper form. The online survey will be accessible from any web-enabled device (computer/phone/tablet). Clients will have several options to complete the survey, depending on whether services are provided in person or via teletherapy.
The Child and Adolescent Research Center (CASRC) and Health Services Research Center (HSRC) will be available to guide staff through the steps of the administration of the survey. Your CASRC/HSRC representatives will contact providers with specifics regarding training.
Thank you for your continued dedication and flexibility!
