 Mountain Empire Unified School District Awarded $4.6 Million
California’s State Allocation Board, which decides state facilities awards for public schools, voted 9-1 late last month to immediately grant Mountain Empire the money for contractors to draw up designs for a new high school campus. The district will also use the money to get preliminary engineering reports for rebuilding its other campuses.

County of San Diego Community Action Partnership (CAP) Community Action Plan & Community Needs Assessment
Every two years, CAP develops a service plan that ties back to local community needs assessments and highlights the priority needs of San Diego’s low-income communities and the services CAP proposes to address them. The San Diego County Black Infant Health Program (BIH) is a FREE supportive service for pregnant women and new mothers who are at least 16 years of age and self-identify as Black or African American. BIH aims to improve health by empowering Black/African American moms to make healthier choices for a brighter future. They accept participants at any stage of pregnancy and up to 6 months postpartum, regardless of income.
