Mindful eating is a technique that helps you be aware of your hunger and eating patterns. Today, pay attention to your body and your food, and focus on eating. When you eat while watching TV, driving or doing work, your brain isn’t in sync with your stomach and you may overeat.

Kaiser Permanente offers tips on how to slow down, enjoy your meal and avoid overeating. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you hungry? How do you know?
  • What does your food smell and taste like?
  • Does it remind you of other food experiences?
