March 2023
Wishing a Blessed Easter to all who celebrate! Each year, Christians observe Easter as the day that Jesus rose from the grave and made salvation possible for everyone who believes in Him. Resurrection Sunday is one of the biggest occasions for Christians to celebrate their faith.
I hope that peace and abundance flow through your homes today and always! Have a Happy Easter!
On March 19, when we broke ground on a three-story, 75,000-square-foot Valley Communications Center in San Bernardino today, we celebrated the beginning of a new era in emergency communications. The San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services, Consolidated Fire Agencies (CONFIRE), the Inland Counties Emergency Management Agency (ICEMA), and members of the Sheriff's Department will all be housed in this cutting-edge, earthquake-resistant, self-sufficient building.
Disasters often require a number of agencies that don't normally interact on a daily basis to work together to coordinate effective emergency response - law enforcement, animal care, purchasing, public works, the Red Cross and others. The technology in this building will be used to ensure that emergency responders from responding agencies can communicate effectively with each other and have access to the latest and best information in service to residents and visitors.
I am very proud of the work we are doing together to make this facility a reality, enhancing our capabilities so that when disasters happen, we are even more equipped to serve.

In addition to my county board duties, I serve as one of the County's representatives on the San Bernardino Council of Governments (SBCOG) for the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA). The purpose of the SBCOG is to speak with a regional voice on important issues that affect its members' agencies. SBCOG is leading the Smart County Master Plan (SCMP) to provide a roadmap for improving the region's communications and technology infrastructure to better serve the county's growing technology needs- prioritizing projects like streetlight synchronization to help with traffic flow across jurisdictional lines.
Supervisor Curt Hagman was unanimously selected, by the board members present, to serve as Ontario Airport Authority's (OIAA) Vice President.
As Vice President, Hagman will continue to plan an active role in driving the growth and success of Ontario International Airport (ONT), one of Southern California's premier aviation hubs and the fastest growing airport in the United States. Hagman's efforts will include advancing key initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger experience, fostering airline partnerships, and promoting economic development in the region.
"It is a tremendous honor to be selected by my colleagues to serve as Vice President," stated Hagman. "Ontario International Airport is a jewel and an economic engine for the Inland Empire. The airport serves as a symbol of opportunity for residents and businesses. I look forward to building on its success with our incredible management team," he concluded.
Do you want to grab something to eat before your flight? According to a recent national research, Ontario International Airport (ONT) in Southern California is the third best in the country for fast food accessibility. This is just another reason to travel out of ONT.
The San Bernardino County Clerk of the Board of Supervisors has worked with the Innovation and Technology Department to make it simpler for constituents to request to speak during Board of Supervisors meetings, with the goal of increasing involvement in local government.
