Shining in Our Community
Acosta Plaza Comite Posada& Salinas Police Department- Sanborn Community Center
The Acosta Plaza Posada took place on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at the Sanborn Community Center. This was a fun-filled event for the Acosta Plaza community! After the traditional "pedir posada" celebration, attendees enjoyed a delicious plate of pozole along with hot chocolate, pan dulce, and ponche. The event was organized by Acosta Plaza residents with support form the Center for Community Advocacy!
After dinner, Santa Claus arrived in a patrol car and had the chance to listen to the wishes of all the children present. The Salinas Police Department, in partnership with Toys for Tots, attended the Posada to gift toys to the kids after they shared their wishes with Santa.
The night ended with children breaking the piñatas and taking home some sweets. The CASP team, along with City Manager René Méndez, had the opportunity to attend this wonderful Posada and can definitely confirm it was a magical night full of tradition! 🎄🎁🎅
