Dear Friends and Second District Residents,
The election is right around the corner! Are you registered to vote? Whatever your thoughts on the election or the candidates may be, it is essential to remember the best voter is an educated voter—and it’s important to remember there is a lot at stake.
All registered California voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the general election. If your mailing address has changed, you may apply to list the new mailing address to receive election materials, including a ballot. Keep in mind, the California vote-by-mail ballot request deadline is Nov. 1, 2022. For more information, please visit https://voteinfo.net/.
Early voting dates: Oct. 10—Nov. 7, 2022 Any registered California voter can vote early in person.
General Election: Nov. 8, 2022 Polling hours on Election Day: 7 am—8 pm.
October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, bringing awareness to pedestrian safety and reminding drivers to watch for pedestrians every time they are behind the wheel. In addition, National Pedestrian Safety Month aims to remind drivers that engaging in distracting behaviors, like using a cell phone, increases the risk of traffic accidents by three times the standard rate.
Everyone is a pedestrian at some point in their day. That is why it is crucial to maintain safety precautions as both a driver and a pedestrian. This National Pedestrian Safety Month, I remind the Riverside County residents of our role in maintaining safe speeds, practicing safe driving behaviors, and abiding by all mobile device use laws when operating a vehicle.
October is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month to connect and unite individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues while raising awareness. In addition, we acknowledge domestic violence survivors are a voice for the victims.
This National Domestic Violence Awareness month, I remind residents of Riverside county to come together to mourn the lives lost to domestic violence, celebrate the progress made to end this epidemic and connect with others working to create change.
Sincerely,
|
