UCR Extension's Apprenticeship Program is designed to benefit both student apprentices and regional employers. Apprentices have the opportunity to earn while they learn, and you, the employer, gain local workers trained with niche skills for advanced IT, logistics, and manufacturing jobs.
-
Fill job vacancies and find the skilled workers you need from a qualified group of apprentices.
-
Customize your training by working with UCR Extension to customize your apprentice education and niche training.
-
Stay ahead of the workforce curve and gain employees who are specifically trained for the future needs of your industry.
In addition, there are state and federal programs to assist in paying an employer's apprentice salary during the apprenticeship period. Currently employed individuals may also qualify for the Apprenticeship Program. Monetary assistance may be provided by UCR Extension to eligible participants for related coursework.
Employers ultimately get to decide who they want to interview and hire! UCR Extension will provide fully vetted apprenticeship candidates that meet employers' business qualifications. It's a win-win: employers receive potentially long-term employees, employees receive on-the-job training and professional growth opportunities!
