Background

The Drive Forward Truck Forums Infrastructure Workgroup is a part CARB’s effort to advance the state’s clean-air and climate goals by partnering with state and local agencies, industry, and utilities to support planning and deployment of zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) fleet infrastructure. Working closely with these partners, CARB helps ensure that electric vehicle charging and hydrogen fueling infrastructure expand at the pace needed to meet California’s ZEV deployment targets, as outlined in Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-79-20. Through these collaborations, CARB addresses challenges related to infrastructure development and operation while supporting solutions tailored to the needs of California’s fleets and drivers.

The Drive Forward Truck Forums Infrastructure Workgroup was previously part of the Truck Regulation Implementation Group (TRIG). In 2023, CARB created the TRIG to discuss topics related to zero-emission truck regulations, including infrastructure. Presentations and recordings of past Infrastructure TRIG meetings are available on the Drive Forward Truck Forum: Infrastructure Workgroup website.
