The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to a public webinar on updates to the emission inventory of isolated structure and vehicle fire incidents not associated with wildfire. CARB staff will present an updated methodology, including the use of recent activity data and consumption factors from the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), with fuel loading and emissions factors from a 2023 study. Updated emissions include both criteria pollutants and greenhouse gases.
Webinar Information
Date: April 23, 2026 Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location: Remote Only – via Zoom

Agenda
The webinar will include a staff presentation followed by Q&A. Staff welcomes public input on the updated methodology during the webinar. (Members of the public are also welcome to contact staff any time before or after the webinar for questions or suggestions as emission inventory is continually refined over time.) The approximate time allocation is as follows:
-
1:00 p.m.
Introduction
-

Staff Presentation: Emission Inventory Update of Non-Wildfire Structure and Vehicle Fires
-
1:30 p.m.
Q&A
Presentation slides will be available on the day of the webinar on the Fire Emission Inventory: Webinar Presentation, Report, and FAQ webpage.
Additional Information About the Webinar Scope
This webinar will cover emission quantification methodologies and draft results for non-wildfire structure and vehicle fires. There are other fire emission categories that are being updated separately and are not part of this webinar: The emission inventory of structures and vehicles burned in wildfire was presented during the October 16, 2025, public webinar (see Part 2 of the tation slides and for more details), and the inventory data will be available in the second quarter of this year. The updated emission inventory of vegetations burned in wildfire was published in February 2026 and is available at the Wildfire Emissions Estimates webpage.
