Don’t miss this important conversation about how we can ensure all Californians benefit from clean transportation.
Date: January 29, 2026 Time: 10 – 11 a.m. Location: Zoom
The meeting will feature a panel of speakers:
Danny Ordaz from Ecology Action will present on their Statewide EV Assistance Model training program for low-income and disadvantaged communities.

Ecology Action’s Statewide EV Assistance Training Model is an initiative born from priorities set by the task force in 2023. Set to launch in early 2026, the program equips community-based organizations with a bilingual, scalable curriculum to help staff and volunteers guide residents through electric vehicle incentives and ownership. The goal is to make electric vehicle access equitable, empower local leaders, and bridge California’s clean transportation goals with real-world impact.
Tom Knox from Valley Clean Air Now will present their white paper, “How to build capacity and scale effective outreach strategies tailored to specific low-income and disadvantaged communities.”
-
Valley Clean Air Now has drafted a ZEV Community Action Guide based on proven best practices to help community organizations quickly and effectively scale up engagement. The guide is designed to support all types of zero-emission transportation options for low- to moderate-income residents in underserved communities with lower-than-average uptake rates. This ranges broadly from shared electric scooters to zero-emission vehicle carpooling to purchase incentives. The guide is intended to be scalable to a wide variety of organizations or coalitions.
Background
The Zero-emission Vehicle Equity Task Force brings together leaders in zero-emission transportation such as environmental justice advocates, automakers, state government, and other key organizations to develop strategies to expand communities’ access to zero-emission vehicles, or ZEVs, and zero-emission mobility.
The task force’s goal is to speed the placement of ZEVs and charging infrastructure in low-income and disadvantaged communities throughout the state.
