The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is exploring the development of a new window sticker for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). As more Californians consider these vehicles, it’s important that shoppers have clear, easy-to-understand information right at the point of purchase. This new sticker would appear on all new plug-in hybrids and would highlight the most important details to help drivers choose the vehicle that best fits their needs. Your input will guide what information appears on the sticker—making it more useful for future car buyers like you. This survey takes just 3–5 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and confidential. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

Background
In 2008, CARB introduced the California Environmental Performance Label, in response to Assembly Bill 1229, which required vehicle window-stickers to include a smog index and global warming index. In California, vehicle manufacturers were required to affix the California Environmental Performance Label along with U.S. EPA and Department of Transportation Fuel Economy and Environment Label (Fuel Economy Label). In 2012, the California Environmental Performance Label was incorporated into the Fuel Economy and Environment Label, which manufacturers can use in place of the California Environmental Performance Label to comply with California’s label requirements.
With more Californians looking towards purchasing electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, CARB wants to ensure consumers have meaningful information to inform their purchase of these vehicles. As part of the Drive Forward Light-duty Vehicle Program, staff are seeking input on an updated California Environmental Performance Label with improved metrics, which would accompany the current Federal Fuel Economy Label.
