The California Air Resources Board (CARB) hosts a series of monthly evening community meetings on the third Tuesday of most months. The purpose of these meetings is to host focused discussions on CARB’s Clean Transportation Incentives Funding Plan Development Process, which explains how CARB will spend money on projects related to zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) and improving air quality. Although the Funding Plan is generally developed between May and November, CARB staff will continue to hold monthly evening community meetings outside of the Funding Plan development timeline to provide updates on incentive project implementation, other CARB initiatives, as well as to provide a forum for community members to express their thoughts, concerns, suggestions, and to ask relevant questions.
During this meeting, CARB staff will give summaries of three daytime public meetings that CARB recently hosted. The first summary will cover CARB’s Kick-off Workshop for the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Funding Plan, providing information on the background, goals, and outcomes of the Funding plan process. The following presentation will summarize the Public Workgroup on the Zero-Emission Assurance Project (ZAP) and related discussions on program policy and implementation. The last summary will cover the Implementation Workgroup for Heavy-Duty Incentives for Fiscal Year 2024-25 Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), Innovative Small E-Fleet Pilot Program (ISEF), and Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE).
If you would like to suggest a topic(s) for future evening community meetings, please let us know at the next meeting or email your suggestion(s) to our general email address CleanTransportationIncentives@arb.ca.gov.
The workgroup meeting will be held via Zoom on the following date and time:
Please register for the evening community meeting. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with information about how to join the Zoom meeting by computer or telephone.
This meeting will be recorded. Approximately two weeks after the meeting date, a link to the recording and a list of workgroup attendees will be made available and posted on CARB's Calendar of Events webpage.
Purpose of the Workgroup
CARB staff hosts evening community meetings related to the Funding Plan and project implementation updates for various CARB initiatives. Furthermore, CARB staff offer this platform to listen to community voices on their clean transportation needs.
The workgroup agenda is now available on CARB's Calendar of Events webpage. Staff’s presentation will be posted to the same webpage prior to the workshop.
All interested community members are invited to attend.
Background
The Annual Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives is a detailed outline of how money will be spent on programs related to low carbon transportation and air quality. This plan is created each fiscal year to guide the allocation of funds appropriated to CARB through the State budget and includes information on CARB's goals and strategies for investing in clean technology. Although the Funding Plan is generally developed between May and November, CARB staff would like to continue to hold monthly evening community meetings outside of the Funding Plan process to provide updates on other CARB initiatives as well as a forum for community members to express their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions.
