Virtual Medium and Heavy-Duty Infrastructure Work Group Meetings

Save-the-Dates

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will be hosting a series of work group meetings in collaboration with the California Energy Commission (CEC), the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and the Governor’s Office of Business Administration and Economic Development (GO-Biz). These meetings will discuss activities and challenges surrounding the build-out of fueling infrastructure needed to support a growing fleet of zero-emission trucks and buses in response to the proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulations.

Work group meetings will be held virtually from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PDT, and will tackle four key topics on the following dates:

  • Business considerations: Friday, December 3, 2021
  • Hydrogen: Thursday, December 16, 2021
  • Electricity and the Grid: Wednesday, January 12, 2022
  • Costs and funding: Wednesday, January 19, 2022

The primary objective of these work group meetings is to gain a collective understanding of the status in each topic area, the responsibilities and initiatives underway at each State agency, and the challenges facing infrastructure scale-up. Transitioning the state’s fleets to zero emission technologies is necessary to provide clean air for all Californians to breath and to reduce the impacts of climate changes. Input from these discussions will inform the Advanced Clean Fleet regulatory development process.

Work group meetings will start with brief topic-focused updates from the state agencies, followed by a facilitated panel discussions and open questions and answer session. Details for each of these meeting will be distributed soon including instructions for participation.
