Background

California Climate Investments is a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.

California Climate Investments programs are available to a large group of audiences, including individuals, land conservancies, nonprofits, farmers, local governments, businesses, transit agencies and tribal governments.

Funding opportunities range from grants for sustainable, affordable housing and shared mobility options to grants for the restoration of wetlands and the California coastline. Through these programs, California Climate Investments works to create thriving and sustainable communities for all, while furthering State climate goals with projects that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and deliver major economic, environmental, and public health benefits for Californians, including meaningful benefits to the most disadvantaged communities.
