Background
On
October 7, 2015, Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. signed SB 350 into law.
SB 350 requires load-serving entities under the jurisdiction of the CPUC
and qualifying publicly owned utilities (jointly, retail electricity
providers) to develop IRPs that meet GHG emission reductions planning
targets established by CARB in coordination with CPUC and CEC. The GHG
planning targets are to be developed for the electric sector as a whole
and for each retail electricity provider.
